While tech gets most of the attention on Prime Day, Amazon Prime comes with another great benefit that might get overlooked today — free comics. With Prime Reading, a collection of over 1,000 books, comics and magazines are free to read on a Kindle or tablet. If you just signed up for Amazon Prime to take advantage of Prime Day deals, you can catch up with some of our favorite heroes like Deadpool, Black Panther and Captain Marvel for free as one of the perks that come with being an Amazon Prime member.

Amazon also owns digital comics publisher Comixology, which is having its own sale as a leadup to San Diego Comic Con. Image comics are buy-one-get-one free with code IMAGE, DC Volume One collections for $4.99, Marvel bestselling collections for $2.99 and up, and many more.

Any digital comics you pick up at Amazon or Comixology can be read either on an Amazon Kindle or on Comixology’s excellent app. The Kindle is on sale today for $49.99 (usually $79.99) as is the higher-resolution Kindle Paperwhite for $79.99 (usually $119.99).

The best picks from Amazon’s free digital comics and Comixology’s SDCC sale are listed below. Or if you prefer to read physical books, you can still save today — Amazon’s offering $5 off any book purchase of $20 or more with code PRIMEBOOKS18.
