Plus new details on pre-order bonuses

More details emerged today about Spider-Man, the upcoming PlayStation exclusive title from Insomniac Games.

A new trailer, embedded above, features a cinematic look at the game’s storyline. Fan favorites M.J. and Miles Morales play a key role in supporting the web slinger. But this snippet is the first we’ve seen of Silver Sable, the white-haired mercenary who entered the canon in 1985. We knew about the game’s other villains — Electro, Scorpion, Vulture, Rhino and Mister Negative — thanks to the extensive gameplay trailer shown at E3 in Los Angeles.

Also announced today were new details on the game’s various pre-order bonuses, a set of suits to subtly sweeten the super slinger’s stunts. They include the new Velocity Suit, which joins the previously announced Iron Spider suit and the Spider-Punk suit. The Velocity Suit was designed by artist Adi Granov, the artist well known for his work on Marvel’s Iron Man.

In a PlayStation Blog post, the developers noted that you’ll be able to be earn them all in-game, even if you don’t pre-order.

Spider-Man is set for release Sept. 7 on PlayStation 4. For more, check out our own impressions of the E3 demo, as well as our piece comparing and contrasting Insomniac’s version of Manhattan with the real-life place.
