Get a sneak peek at Mega Man’s new cartoon series Fully Charged

Mega Man: Fully Charged comes to Cartoon Network on Aug. 5

A new Mega Man animated series is coming to Cartoon Network next month, but you can watch a short preview of it today. A sneak peek of the debut episode, titled “Throwing Shade,” shows that Mega Man: Fully Charged offers a very different take on the Blue Bomber.

Mega Man: Fully Charged stars Aki Light, described as a “regular, upbeat robot schoolboy” who has the secret power to turn into Mega Man. Aki will battle the evil Sergeant Night and his team of Robot Masters with the help of Rush the dog, Mega Mini — a tiny, wisecracking character that lives inside his head, apparently — and Suna Light. According to the show’s official description, Aki will also confront his twin brother, Namagem, who’s under the influence of Sgt. Night.

The first episode of Fully Charged will feature a battle with Fire Man, which you can preview in the video above.

According to a report from Entertainment Weekly (which also has a proper trailer for the series), 10 episodes of Mega Man: Fully Charged will be available via the Cartoon Network app. The series will then come to on-demand streaming services on Aug. 3. The show will air Sundays at 6:30 a.m. on Cartoon Network starting on Aug. 5.

The new Mega Man cartoon was announced in 2015. The show is a co-production between Man of Action Entertainment, Dentsu Entertainment and DHX Media.
