In a comeback to rival any Rocky fight, this week’s big No Man’s Sky update brought the gorgeous survival game from “mostly negative” Steam reviews to “very positive” literally overnight. If you were initially put off by the too-hyped launch, now’s the time to jump back in. A PC download of No Man’s Sky is half off at GameStop and the PS4 version is on sale at the PlayStation Store. An Xbox One release accompanied the update.
Best Buy is still taking advantage of the Amazon Prime Day halo effect with another “Black Friday in July” sale. There aren’t a ton of gaming deals included in the sale, but you can still find some nice console bundles and 20-30 percent discounts on Xbox and PS4 games. Several Nintendo 3DS games are listed at 25 percent off, including GameBoy ports for less than $5. Plus, if you’re in the market for a Switch, Walmart is still offering half off a Nintendo game in a Switch bundle.

Commerce Team Picks
- WarioWare Gold is coming back to 3DS next week which means you only have a few more days to take advantage of Amazon Prime’s preorder discount. Everything about this collection of mini-games sounds appropriately weird and wonderful, from paintings of your Amiibo collection to full voice acting for the evil brother himself. WarioWare Gold will be released on August 3rd.
- I’m about five years late to this party, but I just discovered the mobile puzzle game The Room and devoured it in a few hours. The gameplay revolves around gorgeous, intricate puzzle boxes with a dark-magic-meets-steampunk aesthetic. Thankfully there are three more sequels to keep me occupied. The most recent sequel, The Room: Old Sins, was released in January of 2018.
- ThinkGeek is now selling Spock-inspired wireless earbuds. They’re very silly and may get you some weird looks in public, but if you’re going to be cosplaying as a Vulcan (or even an elf or fairy) these are a fun touch.
