Destiny 2’s first Faction Rally event went live shortly after the game’s launch last September. Since then, there have been a number of Faction Rallies in which players have pledged their loyalty to New Monarchy, Dead Orbit or Future War Cult. But for almost an entire year, Future War Cult has been without a single victory — until now, thanks to the Destiny subreddit.
For the past several weeks, players have been gathering on the subreddit to plan Future War Cult’s first victory. The community came together to meme, shitpost and even jokingly threaten some Destiny players’ ability to access their gear outside of the game. But now that FWC has been crowned the victor, the subreddit has returned to celebrate Lakshmi-2’s band of merry cultists for the first time in Destiny 2’s history.
Since Future War Cult won this week’s Faction Rally, the gruop is getting its first-ever victory weapon. This season, it’s The Vision — a surprisingly powerful-looking energy sidearm complete with the Kill Clip perk. Players who pledged to Future War Cult can pick it up for only 1,000 Glimmer, whereas other faction pledges will need to plunk down 50,000 Glimmer for it.
