Blizzard teams up with World of Warcraft YouTuber for tutorial series

Players will learn the ropes over the next ten weeks

With World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth only two weeks away, Blizzard has teamed up with popular YouTuber Bellular to help teach new and returning players the ropes. For the next few weeks leading up to the expansion — and about a month after — Blizzard will release new videos each week, with each focusing on a different aspect of World of Warcraft.

The first episode starts out very simply, answering the question “What is World of Warcraft?” in the most digestible of ways. From there, Bellular goes into how to get a Blizzard account and install World of Warcraft to your computer. He also gives a few tips on how to make the game run a bit smoother, like installing it to a solid state drive.

While this first week’s tips are extremely basic, Bellular has promised to get more complex in the coming weeks, with examples such as character creation and leveling. Over the 10-week series, he should be able to hit all aspects of what players have loved about World of Warcraft for the past 14 years.

Blizzard’s devotion to teaching new players — and using an outside source to do it — could help a lot of folks get into World of Warcraft for the first time. After all, now is the perfect time to play World of Warcraft.

World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth will be released on Aug. 14 for Mac and Windows PC.
