In a surprise announcement for Bungie Day 2018 — the developer’s community focused holiday, which takes place on July 7 each year — the studio revealed that the Moments of Triumph for Destiny 2’s first year are now live. Players can go to Bungie’s website to begin tracking their progress toward receiving the in-game rewards that launch later this month.
The Moments of Triumph are essentially miniature in-game achievements. For example, some of this year’s Moments of Triumph challenges include completing each of the game’s campaigns, the Leviathan raid, and collecting Exotic gear. Each of these accomplishments will net players points that they can eventually use to unlock exclusive cosmetics.
For hardcore Destiny 2 players, the first few Moments of Triumph may already be completed. Currently, only 225 of the 400 points can be earned by players. The other 175 points will come from six Moments of Triumph that are set to be revealed on July 31, when the pre-Forsaken Solstice of Heroes event begins.
In terms of rewards, players will be able to earn some unique looking gear for participating in the Moments of Triumph. For completing any of the Triumphs, players will earn a special Moments of Triumph emblem, which will track all the points they’ve earned so far. For clearing 125 points, players will earn the Right Choice Ghost shell — which can be seen in the image above, along with the rest of the in-game rewards.
At 250 points, players will unlock access to a special item on Bungie’s online store: an exclusive Moments of Triumph t-shirt. The shirt on its own will cost $29.99, but players can also add their gamertag to the left sleeve for an extra $5. After players hit 300 points, they’ll unlock a Legendary Sparrow to pair with their Ghost. Finally, players who earn all 400 points will be able to upgrade the look of their Moments of Triumph emblem.

Bungie also offered a sneak peek at some of the 400 power armor that players will be able to earn in the Solstice of Heroes event. The armor for each class looks to be all white with gold accents. It’s not a completely dissimilar color scheme from the Leviathan raid armor set. The studio teased that it will reveal more about the Solstice of Heroes holiday event on July 17, the same day as patch 1.2.3 releases for all systems.
The Moments of Triumph have always been a way to say goodbye to one chapter of Destiny before opening another. While players won’t have full access to the system — or the rewards — until later this month, these new Moments of Triumph should help keep players busy until Destiny 2: Forsaken launches on Sept. 4 for PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One.
