During the QuakeCon 2018 keynote, Bethesda’s Pete Hines presented a slide with a list of the publishers’ games that are on sale this weekend. The slide just said “EVERYTHING” in all caps. He wasn’t kidding. Every game Bethesda and id Software has ever made is on sale, pretty much everywhere you can buy them. Rage and Doom, the sequels to which were the focus of the keynote, were added to the lineup of Xbox GamePass free games as well. And if you’re especially excited about Rage 2 and Doom Eternal, you can pre-order them for $47.99 each at Amazon with a Prime discount (usually $59.99).
On Monday, Amazon ran a Gold Box deal for $50 off the SNES-inspired edition of the New Nintendo 3DS XL. We assumed it’d be a one-day-only thing, but as of now that deal is still available. It’s the same deal Amazon ran on Prime Day, but was overshadowed by the flashier Switch deal.

- I rounded up my favorite hidden identity board games this week to check out if you enjoyed watching One Night Ultimate Werewolf on Polygon’s board game show Overboard. If you’re looking for a new game night staple (and don’t mind lying to your friends), I highly recommend any one of these.
- Polygon’s Charlie Hall went to GenCon, the biggest board game convention in the U.S., and found that many of his favorite new games are either already on sale or in pre-order, thanks in large part to crowdfunding. His roundup of the best new games out of GenCon is worth checking out to see what’s up and coming in the tabletop world.
