Fatal Fury’s Terry Bogard joins SNK’s all-female fighting game

Terry joins the SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy roster

Terry Bogard, the star of the Fatal Fury series who has appeared in dozens of SNK fighting games, is joining the roster of the company’s all-female fighter, SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy. This is a somewhat unexpected announcement, because in every other game Terry Bogard has appeared in, he’s presented as male.

So, what’s going on? SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy’s new trailer featuring Terry presents the character’s inclusion as something of a mystery. The fighting game’s official website says that Terry’s appearance in the game — being “stuck in the body of a woman” — is the “result of some prank(?) by someone else.”

It’s not clear how SNK is going to handle this, and there’s some confusion as to why the company didn’t include Terry’s female stand-in (and #1 Terry Bogard fan), Alice Nakata, as a playable character. Perhaps Terry is Alice after all? We’ll find out when SNK Heroines Tag Team Frenzy comes to Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 on Sept. 7.

Terry Bogard is the 14th (and currently final) character confirmed for SNK Heroines Tag Team Frenzy, a two-on-two fighting game. Terry joins fighters like Mai Shiranui, Kula Diamond, Yuri Sakazaki and Leona Heidern from the Fatal Fury and King of Fighters games, as well as some of SNK’s lesser known characters like Mui Mui and Love Heart from the company’s pachinko games.
