Sony unveils four new color schemes for PlayStation 4 controller

The Berry Blue will certainly be hard to lose

Sony has announced that it will be launching four new colors of the DualShock 4 controller in September, and most fans should be able to find at least one they like. The new color schemes are Berry Blue, Sunset Orange, Blue Camouflage and Copper.

Opinions in the Polygon newsroom are mixed about the Berry Blue design, however. Which is strange, because it’s beautiful and I love it.

“Bright, playful, and fun, the new Berry Blue edition brings new flavor to the DS4 lineup, while the vibrant Sunset Orange brings a little heat to your gameplay,” Sony’s Steve Schwartz wrote in the official blog post. “The two-tone design offers a stylish contrast that makes the buttons and sticks pop!”

And yes, that camouflage color scheme is made for those of you who have a lot of blue in your game room and want your controller to blend in.

“If you’re a fan of trendy patterns, the Blue Camouflage DS4 will be right up your alley,” Schwartz stated. “Alternatively, if you’d prefer sticking to one color, stand out with another metallic addition to the lineup with the shiny and refined new Copper DS4.”

So are you feeling playful, stylish, trendy or refined? Apparently one of these colors will match every mood. The controllers will retail for $64.99, and will go on sale in September and be around “while supplies last.” Copper will launch as a GameStop exclusive in the United States before becoming available at other retailers.

You can see the Berry Blue color at the top of this post, and the rest of the designs can be seen in the gallery below.
