Soulcalibur 6 will have a custom character creator and Tira as DLC

Bandai Namco is already announcing add-on fighters

Soulcalibur 6 will once again let players create their own custom fighter, which can be used in the game’s single-player story campaign, according to a new video released by publisher Bandai Namco. Players will be able to take their unique character into battle to fight against and alongside the game’s roster in a mode called Libra of Soul.

Libra of Soul is one of two single-player story modes in Soulcalibur 6. The other, Chronicle of Souls, explores the timeline of the Soulcalibur series in a series of battles, conversations and 2D art. In Libra of Soul, players create their own custom fighter and roam the world “in a quest to stop a new evil mastermind at work to gather Soul Edge shards.” On their journey, players will bump into the cast of Soulcalibur 6 as well as custom fighters created by other players.

The above trailer for Libra of Soul shows a glimpse of the character creator, which will let players choose from 16 races: humans, lizardpeople, automatons, mummies, living skeletons and more.

Bandai Namco also confirmed a new fighter for Soulcalibur 6: Tira, wielder of the ring blade named Eiserne Drossel.

Tira made her debut in 2005’s Soulcalibur 3, and for Soulcalibur 6, she’s part of Bandai Namco’s downloadable content plan. She’ll be available to purchase as stand-alone DLC and is also included as part of the fighting game’s season pass. Considering that the game’s full roster of playable characters is not yet complete and Soulcalibur 6 isn’t out until October, ]Tira’s announcement of a DLC character isn’t going over well with fans.

Soulcalibur 6 is bound for PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One on Oct. 19.
