Xbox One bundles announced at Gamescom 2018 up for pre-order

Battlefield 5 gets a special edition console

Four of the most anticipated upcoming Xbox One games of 2018 are getting console bundles, Microsoft announced in a Gamescom 2018 Inside Xbox livestream on Tuesday. Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Battlefield 5, Fallout 76 and Forza Horizon 4 bundles are now available to pre-order from Microsoft and a few other retailers.

If you’re in the market for a new Xbox One, chances are good you’ll want to play one of these games first, anyway. Like any new Xbox One X 1 TB, each of the bundles includes a free trial of Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Live Gold subscription services and is priced at $499. So you’re essentially getting a brand new, full-price game for free when you buy a bundle.

Here are the Xbox bundles announced at Gamescom, with more information on release dates and retailers.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider

Lara Croft’s latest adventure will be released on Sept. 14. The Shadow of the Tomb Raider bundle includes an Xbox One X 1 TB console, wireless controller, digital download of the game, 14-day trial of Xbox Live Gold and one-month subscription to Xbox Game Pass.

Forza Horizon 4

The fourth installment of the open-world racing Forza Horizon series launches on Oct. 2. This bundle includes a Xbox One X 1 TB console, wireless controller, digital downloads of Forza Horizon 4 and Forza Motorsport 7, 14-day trial of Xbox Live Gold and one-month subscription to Xbox Game Pass.

Battlefield 5

EA’s WWII shooter is the only game with a special edition console tied to its release on Oct. 16. The Battlefield 5 Gold Rush Special Edition Bundle includes a gold-to-black gradient Xbox One X 1 TB along with the wireless controller, downloads of Battlefield 5 and Battlefield 1943, 14-day trial of Xbox Live Gold, one-month subscriptions to Xbox Game Pass and EA Access.

If you’re not into the black-and-gold motif or want to save $100 on a less powerful console, a bundle is available with a solid white Xbox One S 1 TB, but it does not include Battlefield 1943.

Fallout 76

Bethesda’s much-anticipated Fallout prequel will be released on Nov. 16. The Fallout 76 bundle includes an Xbox One X 1 TB, wireless controller, digital download of the game, and one month of both Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass.
