Doctor Who alumni Matt Smith is the latest actor to join the lineup of Star Wars: Episode IX, Variety reports.

The actor, who earned an Emmy nomination for his role as Prince Phillip on Netflix’s The Crown, is reportedly among a slate of new actors to the franchise, including Keri Russel, Richard E. Grant, Dominic Monaghan and Naomi Ackie. It’s still unclear what Smith’s role will be.

Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Adam Driver, Oscar Issac, Lupita Nyong’o and Domhnall Gleeson are returning to the franchise. Kelly Marie Tran will also return, despite a barrage of social media harassment. Though Mark Hamill’s Luke Skywalker died at the end of The Last Jedi, he is set to make an appearance in Episode IX — whether as a Force Ghost or a flashback or something else is unknown.

It was also reported earlier this summer that unused footage of the late Carrie Fisher, who famously played Leia Organa, shot for The Force Awakens will be used in Episode IX. Billy Dee Williams is also set to reprise his role as Lando Calrissian.

Star Wars: Episode IX is set to be released in December 2019.
