Destiny 2’s first major expansion, Forsaken, launches in under a week. But as of the 2.0 pre-patch update, some players are getting exclusive rewards a bit early. Forsaken-only weapons and armor pieces — complete with random rolls — have found there way into multiple players’ inventories, including our own.
Players have been posting to Twitter and other platforms since the patch dropped yesterday, saying they’re getting items that should not be dropping yet.
Here are just a few examples:

- Weapon Type: Submachine Gun
- Damage Type: Kinetic // Primary

Like many players, we were able to replicate this fun new bug by completing the new Flashpoint, which is taking place on Mars this week. While we weren’t lucky enough to earn a new weapon, a new piece of Forsaken leg armor did drop in our inventory. The piece is for Titans only and called Scatterhorn Greaves. Similar pieces dropped for the other two classes as well. It seems as though it’s supposed to drop from the new Tangled Shore location in Forsaken.
We are aware of an issue where players are receiving Forsaken items earlier than intended.— Bungie Help (@BungieHelp) August 29, 2018

While Bungie says it’s aware of this issue, it’s unlikely that they’ll put any fix in place until Forsaken is released on Sept. 4. Until then, it seems like the Flashpoint will reward people with new weapons and armor. However, for players who get drops over 400 — meaning that they have completed a set of Solstice of Heroes armor — they will be unable to equip their new gear until after Forsaken is released and they can level up past 30.
