Dark Samus is coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as an echo fighter, Nintendo announced today during the company’s Smash focused Nintendo Direct.
Dark Samus first appeared with a cameo in Metroid Prime, but became an integral part of the series as one of the primary antagonists in the Metroid Prime series.
Just like the other echo fighters in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Dark Samus will use Samus as a baseline for all of her abilities, and will essentially be the exact same fighter. She will, however, also use new animations and particles for things like missiles. This isn’t the only announcement Nintendo made today. The company also noted that Castlevania’s Simon Belmont would be joining the cast of characters.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is the fifth game in Nintendo’s popular fighting game series which dates back to 1999. It’s the first game in the series to be released on Nintendo Switch and will be out on Dec. 7, 2018.
