In one of the last “summer sales” of the season, the Humble Store is discounting thousands of PC games from AAA favorites to indie hits. Cuphead, Rocket League, The Witcher 3, the early access game Hunt: Showdown and lots more are all on sale through Sept. 13.
Best Buy and the Microsoft Store are both running Labor Day sales, mainly on computers and peripherals. If you’re in the market for a new gaming PC or monitor, you may want to look there. Check out The Verge’s roundup for a full list of the Labor Day tech sales happening this weekend.

Commerce Team Picks
- Donut County, a new game from Annapurna Interactive in which you play a roving, expanding hole in the ground picking up trash, is a delight. I highly recommend reading the Trashopedia entries that are available after each level, because they’re full of absurdist gems like “If I had sticky feet I’d walk on the ceiling and scream” (re: geckos). Donut County is available on PC, PS4 and iOS.
- Inspired by my quest to find a cute Star Wars backpack that doesn’t make me look like a fourth grader, I rounded up a bunch of grown up fandom-inspired bags and backpacks. (I ended up going with a floral backpack with slightly hidden Millennium Falcons and X-Wings.)
- Nintendo announced a few new bundles and limited edition hardware this week: a pretty purple and silver New Nintendo 2DS XL; “starter pack” versions of Splatoon 2; Super Mario Odyssey and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, both of which include free strategy guides; and a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Edition Pro Controller. The new 2DS and starter packs are out on Sept. 28 and available for pre-order at Amazon. The Super Smash Bros. Ultimate controller, and a bundle with a limited edition steelbook, will be released on Dec. 7 and are available for pre-order at Best Buy and GameStop.
