New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe is headed to Nintendo Switch on Jan. 11

Mario and Luigi are headed to the Switch in a new version of the Wii U platformer

New Super Mario Bros. U, the side-scrolling platformer first released on the Wii U is getting a new Deluxe version that will bring it to the Nintendo Switch for the first time.

Along with all the features from the original game, New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe is also getting a few new features of its own, including two new characters. The first new character is Nabbit, who completely changes the game by not taking any damage from enemies. Nintendo is also adding Toadette to the game. When playing as Toadette, grabbing a super crown will turn you into Peachette, who has a double jump, slower falls and even jumps back up into the air if she falls into a pit.

Also coming to the Switch with New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe is New Super Luigi U, another side-scrolling platformer, this time starring Luigi. The game will be included with New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe for free.
