Resonance of Fate remaster coming to PS4, Steam

Tri-Ace and Sega’s role-playing game gets a 4K makeover

Star Ocean developer tri-Ace will re-release its role-playing game Resonance of Fate for PlayStation 4 and Windows PC via Steam this October, the developer announced today. The “4K/HD Edition” of the RPG promises a full remaster of the 2010 game.

An announcement trailer for Resonance of Fate 4K/HD Edition shows off the game’s “acrobatic gun combat.” The firearms-focused RPG lets players take control of three protagonists (Zephyr, Leanne, and Vashyron) who use flamboyant, turn-based attacks in battles against monsters and machines. The game is set in a futuristic civilization known as Basel, a refuge for humanity in a polluted, steampunk world.

Resonance of Fate was originally released on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, with Sega acting as publisher at the time. The 4K/HD remaster will be released on Oct. 18, according to tri-Ace’s website. The game is priced at 3,700 yen in Japan, but pricing for other territories has not been announced.
