Devil May Cry 5 TGS trailer shows off Dante gameplay, reveals new playable character

Mega Man’s lending a hand too

Capcom released a new trailer for Devil May Cry 5 at Tokyo Game Show today, showing series favorite Dante in action. Dante will join Nero and a third playable character, known as V, in Capcom’s over-the-top character action game.

Dante will wield familiar weapons — the sword Rebellion and handguns Ebony and Ivory — along with a new one, the motorcycle that splits into a pair of bladed weapons. Dante’s Devil Trigger transformation is back too, which you can see in the gameplay trailer above.

Nero’s getting a few new weapons as well, including the Mega Man-inspired Mega Buster Devil Breaker. Here’s a look at that new weapon — which is exclusive to the deluxe edition of DMC5 — in action:

The Mega Buster is one of four Devil Breaker weapons for Nero said to be exclusive to the deluxe edition of the game. The others include the Sweet Surrender, a vibrator designed to “relieve tension,” and the Pasta Breaker, an arm that “makes pasta extra easy to eat” but is “not particularly useful in battle.”

Devil May Cry fans will also see the return of two familiar faces in today’s TGS trailer: Trish and Lady. They’re partnering up with Dante for another go at demon slaying.

Devil May Cry 5’s TGS trailer also introduces V, the game’s third playable character. Capcom says the new Devil May Cry “client” speaks in poetic verse and will be further detailed ahead of the game’s March 8, 2019 release date.

A fresh batch of screenshots featuring all the new Devil May Cry 5 characters can be viewed in the gallery below.
