Disney has released an extended sneak peek for its new animated series, Star Wars Resistance, showing off the antics of the series’ ace pilots and a glimpse into the high-stakes spy mission at hand.

Star Wars Resistance follows pilot Kazuda Xiono, who is recruited into the Resistance and tasked with spying on the First Order. Canonically, this series takes place decades after Return of the Jedi and a few months before The Force Awakens.

The sneak peek shows Kazuda’s first meeting with Resistance pilot Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac), who spots something special in the young pilot and assigns him to a dangerous mission. We see Kazuda’s fellow pilots, as well as the threat of pirates. The pirates, it seems, are collecting newer, more dangerous weapons, supplied to them by the First Order. It’s up to Kazuda and the gang to figure out who they can trust.

Adam Driver and Gwendoline Christie are set to return to their Star Wars roles (Kylo Ren and Captain Phasma, respectively) for guest appearances in addition to Oscar Isaac returning as Poe. BB-8, the absolutely wonderful spherical droid, and General Leia Organa (voiced by Rachel Butera), will also appear.

Star Wars Resistance will premiere on Oct. 7 at 10 p.m. ET on Disney Channel.
