SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy, the fighting game that features an all-female cast of SNK characters, is getting another guest fighter: Skullomania, who made his first appearance in 1996’s Street Fighter EX. And just like Terry Bogard from the Fatal Fury series, in SNK Heroines, Skullomania will appear in female form.
Skullomania will join the SNK Heroines roster on Oct. 11, SNK revealed in a new trailer. Incidentally, that trailer refers to the character as “Skullo Mania,” so it’s not clear if it’s the same character that appeared in the Street Fighter EX series and Fighting EX Layer.
In case you’re wondering why Skullomania — and for that manner, Terry Bogard — appears as a female fighter in SNK Heroines, despite appearing as male in other games, the story of SNK’s latest fighting game features a pocket dimension created by its antagonist, Kukri, meaning he creates his own alternate reality in which the game’s cast are trapped.
Skullomania’s appearance in SNK Heroines is the second collaboration between SNK and developer Arika, the studio behind Fighting EX Layer. In August, Arika announced that Terry Bogard will appear as a guest character in Fighting EX Layer.
SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy is available on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4.
