Earlier this week, Target unveiled an interesting, if confusing, new promotion. Customers can save 30 percent off a current game when they pre-order an upcoming one. It’s a limited-time deal that ends today, but we’re hoping that Target is testing a new program similar to Amazon Prime or the now defunct Best Buy Gamer’s Club.
As we approach the holiday shopping season, console bundles are going to start popping up more and more. Not all console bundles come with any sort of discount (we’re looking at you, Nintendo) but the Red Dead Redemption PS4 bundle and Fortnite Switch bundle do save a bit of cash. The PS4 bundle includes a copy of Red Dead Redemption for the same price as a standard PS4. Yes, Fortnite is a free game, but the Switch bundle includes about $10 worth of in-game currency and an exclusive skin pack. Pre-orders for both bundles are available now.
Finally, we teamed up with Fanatical on a PC bundle giveaway. 10 winners will get to pick one of three bundles. They include some excellent titles like Monster Hunter: World, Yakuza 0 and Two Point Hospital. Check out our post for more info.

Commerce Team Picks
- This week Polygon celebrated the 20th anniversary of Pokémon Red/Blue in the U.S. I looked at a lot of Pokémon merch for Pokémon week posts but my favorite is and will always be ThinkGeek’s giant Snorlax bean bag.
- I was between consoles when Assassin’s Creed Origins came out but I’ve been playing on my new PC and totally get what all the fuss was about. It’s completely up my alley: a big RPG with plenty to explore and the ability to pet cats. If you also fell off the series, I highly recommend catching up before Assassin’s Creed Odyssey comes out next month. Assassin’s Creed Origins is about $10 off on PS4 and Xbox at Amazon.
- A new game from Humble’s publishing studio, Wandersong, is an adorable music-based platformer where you interact with the world through song. Humble sent me a demo to play with and I had a blast with it — I’m excited to give the full game a try!
- Charlie Hall put together an exhaustive list of the best PC games for Polygon Essentials. If you want to to add even more games to your Steam backlog, that’s the place to look.
