Over the weekend, a new trailer for Netflix’s upcoming animated series The Dragon Prince dropped, revealing more details of the overarching plot.
Netflix’s new Dragon Prince trailer reveals the clash between humans and elves
A new series from staff behind Avatar: The Last Airbender, Uncharted is coming to Netflix this month
We learn that there’s been a long conflict between the Human Kingdoms and Xaida, the land of the moonshadow elves — a conflict that’s not simple enough to resolve with a single peace treaty. When elf assassin Rayla confronts the two princes, she claims that the reason that Xadia is at war with the Human Kingdoms is because humans slew the last dragon and destroyed his only egg.
But young Prince Ezran reveals to her that the egg is still intact.
“This changes everything,” gasps Rayla.
With this knowledge, it’s now up to the three unlikely allies to return the egg to Xadia.
There’s also glimpses of other characters previously teased by the show’s active Twitter account: dark mage Claudia, crownguard Soren, moonshadow elf Runaan and King Harrow of the Human Kingdoms.
Created by the head writer of Avatar: The Last Airbender, Aaron Ehasz, Avatar director Giancarlo Volpe, and Uncharted game director Justin Richmond, The Dragon Prince looks like it’s going to be one epic fantasy adventure, with a characteristic splash of humor to go along with it.
The Dragon Prince premieres on Netflix on Sept. 14.
