While the Hogwarts Express rolled into Platform 934 on Sept. 1, players of Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery were still waiting for their fifth year to start. But wait no more — Year Five of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is available today in Hogwarts Mystery.

Fans of Harry Potter know that the fifth year at Hogwarts means preparation for the O.W.L. (Ordinary Wizarding Level) exams, which players will now be able to take in-game! Additionally, those who finished the prefect quest in the fourth year will receive their prefect badges and assume all responsibilities of the role (and gain access to the sweet prefect’s bathroom).

In addition to the fifth year quirks, players will also have access to more areas of the castle and out of the grounds, such as the sinister Knockturn Alley. History of Magic, featuring long-winded ghost Professor Binns, is also available as a class, and the identity of the mysterious new professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts will be revealed.

Year Five is a pivotal year for any student at Hogwarts, with the O.W.L. exams looming, new professors to navigate, and for some, a prefect badge on their robes,” said Amanda Heaton, Executive Producer at Jam City. “We wanted to reflect the rigors of this year in the mobile game, balanced of course, with the core extra-curricular activity at Hogwarts: unraveling mysterious with your school mates. Year Five brings the most robust year of content yet to the game, and we’re excited for players to start this new chapter.”

Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery launched in April from Jam City under Warner Bros.’ Portkey Games label. It’s currently available to play for free on Android and iOS. Check out some sneak peeks from Year Five below:
