Marvel’s Spider-Man, the long-awaited PlayStation 4 exclusive from Insomniac Games, is finally available. Alongside it, Sony has released a limited-edition PS4 Pro bundle that doesn’t just include a (physical) copy of the game — it features a console and controller bathed in red and white, to celebrate the famed wall-crawler.
To be specific, the color is officially known as “Amazing Red,” although it isn’t uniform across the entire console. The upper third of the unit — “upper” when the console is sitting in its horizontal orientation, that is — bears a glossy coat of paint. The middle and lower thirds of the system, on the other hand, have a matte finish. And the top of the console is adorned with a large white Spider-Man emblem, which Insomniac designed specifically for this game, as well as a shiny PlayStation logo. (Personally, I think Sony should’ve just gone with “PLAYSTATION 4” in the 2000s-era Spidey font.)
The Spider-Man-themed PS4 includes a 1 TB hard drive, and comes with a matching DualShock 4 gamepad: The body of the controller is matte red, while the buttons are white. Also included in the bundle is the aforementioned disc copy of the game, as well as a code for the content from its $79.99 Digital Deluxe Edition. The package — which is very hard to find, though presumably not as limited as the 500 Million Limited Edition PS4 Pro bundle — costs $399.99.
The contents of the box (clockwise from bottom right): DualShock 4 controller, physical copy of Spider-Man, mono headset, HDMI cable, micro-USB cable, power cable and the PS4 Pro itself.

The color scheme is a bit surprising, considering that Spidey’s default suit in the game is primarily red and blue. The only colors here are red, white and a bit of black.

Both the Sony and PS4 wordmarks are engraved in the upper layer of the console.

As you can see here, only the top third of the console has a glossy finish.

Here, the glossy finish is shiny enough to reflect the controller’s shoulder buttons.

The shiny PlayStation logo in the corner of the unit’s top face is a silvery black color.

As usual, the underside of the console features that classic PlayStation logo, as well as black rubber feet in the shapes of the PlayStation face buttons.

It’s hard to tell from this photo of the rear port array, but the upper third of the console is glossy all the way around.

Only the touchpad on this controller retains the default PS4 gamepad’s shade of black. The face buttons are white with red symbols, instead of the traditional four-color setup.

Unlike the console, the entire controller comes in a matte finish.

The back of the box features artwork of Spidey battling Mister Negative on the New York City Subway.
