Mega Man 11 gets a demo and introduces a new robot master

Bounce Man is the latest baddie in the all-new lineup

Owen S. Good is a longtime veteran of video games writing, well known for his coverage of sports and racing games.

Mega Man 11 launches next month, and a demo for the game is available now for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

The demo is accompanied by a trailer showcasing new robot master Bounce Man and his stage. plus Impact Man, Torch Man, Block Man and Fuse Man. All of them make their debut in Mega Man 11.

Bounce Man’s canonical history is that he’s originally an exercise instructor. His stage will send players rebounding out of control into floating balloon enemies and a cherubic-looking inflatable frog sub-boss. Defeating Bounce Man gives the Blue Bomber an attack that fires three bouncy balls that explode for splash damage.

Block Man is part of a demo incentive campaign whereby if enough people defeat his stage in the demo (posting an image of that to social media), all the demo players will get some in-game content usable in the main game. The demo’s lone stage is Block Man’s and Capcom didn’t say how many people had to beat it, so we’re betting they just dole out the DLC bonus anyway.

Mega Man 11 launches Oct. 2 on the three consoles, plus Windows PC.
