Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 is getting a small-scale beta that will go live next month, weeks ahead of the game’s launch. The beta will be playable from Thursday, Feb. 7, to Sunday, Feb. 10, according to a trailer that Ubisoft released on Wednesday morning.
Players will be guaranteed access to the beta by pre-ordering The Division 2 from certain retailers. Those who haven’t pre-ordered the game can apply for the beta by registering on the game’s website; however, only a limited number of registered players will receive access.
Ubisoft hasn’t announced what exactly will be in the beta. Based on the trailer, it’s safe to assume that players will get the chance to explore Washington, D.C., where the game is set, as well as possibly play some of the game’s earliest, low-level story content.
During the beta for the first game, players could also experience a limited section of the Dark Zone, where they were allowed to fight each other if they choose to. It’s unclear if that will be part of the beta for The Division 2 as well. Ubisoft says it will release more details on what will be included in The Division 2’s beta sometime before it officially starts.
When The Division 2 launches on March 15, it will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC (albeit not on Steam). The weekend beta will also be live on all three platforms.
