Full list of 2019 Oscar Nominations, revealed

Mahershala Ali and Viggo Mortensen in Green Book. Universal Pictures

This year’s Academy Awards have been fraught with discourse, more so than most years: The popular movie category came and went faster that a Best Short Film director acceptance speech. Kevin Hart’s hosting prospects seemingly imploded the ritual. Golden Globe Best Picture winners Green Book and Bohemian Rhapsody brought their own baggage to the proceedings. And then the big question: would Black Panther be the first superhero movie to score the coveted Best Picture nomination, after The Dark Knight was snubbed a decade prior?

On Tuesday morning, Tracee Ellis Ross (Black-ish) and Kumail Nanjiani (The Big Sick) put some of the debate to rest by announcing the nominees for the 2019 Oscars. The results saw frontrunners like Green Book gunning for the big prize, while Netflix readies for a coup with Alfonso Cuarón’s Roma and Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s A Star is Born prays for a last minute come back.

Who made the cut? Here’s the full list. We’ll know the real winners when the Oscar ceremony arrives on Feb. 24.
