She-Ra and the Princesses of Power will return for season 2 on April 26.
A reboot of the 1980s animated series She-Ra: Princess of Power, Princesses of Power debuted on Netflix in November 2018. While the redesigns of older characters raised a few eyebrows from some sticklers, many rallied in support of the fresh takes on the beloved characters.
The first season followed Adora as she discovered the magical sword that transforms her into She-Ra. Leaving behind the Evil Horde — and her best friend Catra — Adora joined forces with Princess Glimmer, archer Bow, and magical horse Swift Wind to unite the Princess alliance and fight back against the Horde. Meanwhile, hurt by Adora’s seeming betrayal, Catra vowed to rise in the ranks of the Horde and get her revenge.
In the end, the Princess Alliance was rebuilt, but Catra and the Horde have discovered a great source of power that they could use to destroy the planet.
The series is helmed by Noelle Stevenson (Lumberjanes, Nimona) and features the voices of Karen Fukuhara (Suicide Squad) and AJ Michalka (Steven Universe). Check out the announcement trailer below:
