This Destiny fan timeline is just as long and complicated as you’d expect

Warm up your scroll wheel, you’ve got a while to go

Destiny - Guardians fighting Hive on the Moon Bungie/Activision
Ryan Gilliam (he/him) has worked at Polygon for nearly seven years. He primarily spends his time writing guides for massively popular games like Diablo 4 & Destiny 2.

Destiny’s lore is outrageous, to put it mildly. With religions like “The Sword Logic” and the player characters all being immortal zombies, the game still manages to take itself pretty seriously. But Destiny’s lore and world are beloved by its dedicated fans. And one such fan has been painstakingly creating a timeline of the events of the Destiny universe, to make it visually easier to understand.

It’s long and daunting but surprisingly easy to follow, even for players that may not know too much about the origins of Guardians and Ghosts and the Traveller.

What makes this timeline so neat — beyond its multiple stems, detail, and visual appeal — is how it intertwines the gameplay and player actions with the history of the Destiny universe. If you go far enough down, you’ll find the first ever Destiny raid, The Vault of Glass. Below that, you can find the King’s Fall raid or the events of the Forsaken expansion.

The timeline has also been updated, as of a few days ago, and includes The Draw questline to recover The Last Word hand cannon. Lines trail off these events, knowing that more is soon to come with Joker’s Wild.

All of this work was done by Reddit user ScoobyDeezy. You can see the entire timeline below.
