Awesome Games Done Quick 2019: what to watch on the third day

The fourth day of Awesome Games Done Quick (noon today until noon Wednesday) will see 23 events, 13 of them featuring a speedrunner currently ranked No. 1 in the world in the event. It’s an exciting third day of the fastest week in video gaming, which kicked off Sunday in Rockville, Maryland. You can watch all of the action live, right here.

Below are the games featuring world-record holders (according to speedrun.com) scheduled to appear over the next 24 hours (all times ET).

• 1:44 p.m. Bastion (Primorix). All story levels, new game. Primorix has held No. 1 since March 18 and has since improved the record 11 times, most recently a week ago.
• 2:49 p.m. Momodora: Reverie Under the Moonlight (SNeaky). AVIB, hard on PC.
• 3:39 p.m. Sonic Forces (thebluemania). Any% on PC. Runner thebluemania took back No. 1 on July 25, 2018 and has improved the record twice since.
• 6:09 p.m. Sanic Ball (Gyoo). Currently No. 1 in this nutty fan game for PC.
• 7:11 p.m. Sonic Rush (Kirbymastah). All stages on DS. Kirbymastah retook No. 1 in March after 18 months in second place.
• 8:11 p.m. Mario Kart 64 (abney317). 150cc All Cups, with skips on Nintendo 64. World record holder since February 2015, which is a very long time in speedrunning.
• 9:06 p.m. Super Mario Bros. 3Mix (Jabem, Gadien and mitchflowerpower). Any% three-way race. These are the Nos. 1, 3 and 4 respectively in this ROMhack of Super Mario Bros. 3 on the NES.
• 10:31 p.m. Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars (Justin-credible). Any% on Super Nintendo. World No. 1 since June.
• 2:06 a.m. Wednesday, Trauma Center: Under the Knife 2 (TrjnRabbit). Normal on DS.
• 5:11 a.m. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2X (ThePackle) All goals and golds, all careers, on Xbox. This is ThePackle’s second consecutive run, before this (at 4:26 a.m.) is Medal of Honor: Airborne where they are currently third place.
• 7:11 a.m. The Magical Quest Starring Mickey Mouse (Le Hulk). Hard on SNES.
• 10:19 a.m. Semblance (halfcoordinated) All Orbs on PC. halfcoordinated, whose disability limits him to using one hand in his runs, is making his eighth appearance at a Games Done Quick. He’s a current No. 1 in this and four other games.
• 11:56 a.m. Warcraft 3: Reign of Chaos (CovertMuffin) Orc campaign on PC. CovertMuffin took first place on Dec. 15.

Other runs of note:

• At 6:39 p.m., it’s Sonic the Hedgehog featuring Dr.Fatbody, currently No. 7. But hey, it’s a straight Any% speedrun of a classic.
• The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind is at 5:56 a.m. Wednesday, run by Archariat (No. 4). For those wondering, the record time for this RPG is 22:59 with loads. So don’t plan to drop in late.
• We’ll point out Michael Jackson’s Moonwalker (Brandooates) at 6:36 a.m. because, well, it’s Michael Jackson’s Moonwalker.
• Guacamelee! 2 is at 8:14, run by The Blacktastic, world No. 2, was briefly No. 1 back in September, and set their personal best just three weeks ago.
