Dragon’s Dogma heads to Switch in April

Capcom is bringing Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen, the 2013 Western role-playing game-inspired action game, to Nintendo Switch on April 23. The Switch version will cost $29.99.

Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen for Switch will include all previously released content and DLC. Capcom promises a “revamped user interface” that will offer improved screen visibility on Switch, hopefully making the game’s UI readable while playing in portable or tabletop mode.

Content-wise, Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen for Switch appears to be identical to the game that first hit PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2013. Players will be able to take on one of nine vocations, customize their character and AI-controlled companions (known as Pawns), and battle giant, mystical beasts. The game’s Pawn system, which lets players share their companions with others, won’t require a Nintendo Switch Online subscription.

Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen expanded upon the original Dragon’s Dogma, first released in 2012. The core game was directed by longtime Devil May Cry series lead Hideaki Itsuno. Screenshots of the Switch version of Dark Arisen can be seen in the gallery below.
