Michael Bay and Detective Pikachu himself, Ryan Reynolds, team up for Netflix’s 6 Underground. Bay says that this movie goes back to “old-school Bay” — meaning explosions, action, car chases, and humor.

Detective Pikachu Deadpool returns
The current synopsis of the movie is pretty barebones: six people fake their own deaths in order to take down notorious criminals. The trailer is full of action scenes, explosions, the world’s largest magnet, Ryan Reynolds making out with Adria Arjona, and iconic international landmarks. Reynolds, who plays “One,” makes repeated references to the whole squad actually being dead while people chase after them. It’s all high-stakes action, all the time. “Old-school Bay” indeed.
6 Underground also stars Mélanie Laurent (Inglorious Bastards) as a CIA dark operative, Corey Hawkins (Straight Outta Compton) as a former Delta Force sniper, Adria Arjona (Pacific Rim: Uprising) as a former war doctor, Manuel Garcia Rulfo (The Magnificent Seven) as a hitman, Ben Hardy (Bohemian Rhapsody) as a parkour expert, and Dave Franco (Neighbors) as a getaway driver.
6 Underground arrives on Netflix on Dec. 13
