An official tweet went out from The Coalition Twitter account announced that players quitting matches were going to start getting suspended. Any player who got a suspension before that announcement will be unsuspended, but if they leave any more games, their punishment will be reinstated.
Microsoft director of communications Dana Sissons announced that penalties for quitting are active a day before, with many players on social media complaining about being suspended from the game with no warning. Sissons then clarified that the players who were banned left a majority of their matches.
It’s not uncommon for online multiplayer matches in any game to be ruined by a person leaving, but punishing players who dip out early often is the right direction to go to create a fair game for everyone involved.
