The Pokémon Company revealed new Gigantamax forms of Pokémon like Eevee, Charizard, and Butterfree coming to Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield, and the most important thing you need to know is that Pikachu is extremely fat again in its Gigantamax form. Also Gigantamax Meowth is excessively long, but in a good way.
A new trailer for Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield shows off Gigantamax Pikachu and others, revealing all-new, seemingly very meme-y, giant-sized Pokémon. Those new Gigantamax Pokémon come with exclusive new moves, like Pikachu’s G-Max Volt Crash, which damages and paralyzes its opponent.
But be warned: Gigantamax Pikachu appears to be available to players only if they have “play records from Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu!” on their Nintendo Switch. It’s the same deal for the new Gigantamax Eevee. That giant fluffy form and its G-Max Cuddle move will require play records from Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!
Similarly, Gigantamax Meowth is listed as an “early-purchase bonus” for Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield. Players will need to select the “Get via Internet option in Mystery Gift” between Friday, Nov. 15, 2019, to Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2020 if they want this long, long cat with a big, big coin.
Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield come to Nintendo Switch on Nov. 15.
