Apple’s premium streaming service, Apple TV Plus, is now live.
For $4.99 a month (or free for a year if you picked up a new Apple device), users can stream an ever-growing catalog of original programming from Apple across all of the company’s devices. Currently, the slate of shows runs the gamut of genres. There’s the high fantasy/sci-fi series See, which was reportedly produced for a whopping $15 million an episode. There’s The Morning Show, which heralds the return of Steve Carell and Jennifer Aniston to the small screen (not to mention being one of a gazillion shows Reese Witherspoon is involved with). Battlestar Galactica writer Ronald Moore is back with For All Mankind, an alt-universe story set during the space race, and Hailee Steinfeld has her own series, where she plays a rambunctious Emily Dickinson (it’s called Dickinson).
And still to come later this month: a Serial-like drama starring Octavia Spencer and a new series from M. Night Shyamalan. Apple wants a piece of the streaming wars.
As the library of programming on Apple TV Plus grows, we’ll keep you up to date with the latest news, trailers, reviews, and more. Here’s everything you need to know so far.
