Eight new fighters join the lineup of anime-crossover fighting game BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle with the 2.0 Expansion Pack, available now. In terms of who’s the best, our money is on the tank. With a skull. For a head.
That would be Blitztank, who is paired with Akatsuki from their namesake fighting game Akatsuki Blitzkampf, a 2007 Japan-only release by Subtle Style. Arc System Works’ fighting game, which launched on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and Windows PC in June 2018, has been a goldmine for fans of esoteric anime and fighting game characters. The expansion pack, which costs $24.99, brings that roster total to 51.
The other fighters included are Yumi from Senran Kagura Estival Versus, Neo Politan from RWBY, Celica from BlazBlue, Elizabeth from Persona 4: The Animation, Adachi from Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, Hilda from Under Night In-Birth, and Susanoo from BlazBlue.
Additionally, a title update delivering version 2.0 will be a free “major balance adjustment” for all players of BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle. Arc System Works says that players may fight against the new 2.0 characters without purchasing the expansion pack.
