New Streets of Rage 4 trailer shows Adam Hunter in action

Streets of Rage 4 coming first half of 2020

Streets of Rage 4 will feature Adam Hunter as a playable character, as revealed in a new trailer for the upcoming sidescrolling beat-’em-up. The next Streets of Rage game will be released on Nintendo Switch and other platforms in the first half of 2020, according to the trailer, which debuted during Nintendo’s Indie World stream.

Adam Hunter was one of three playable characters in the original Streets of Rage for Sega Genesis. But his spot on the roster was taken by Eddie “Skate” Hunter, Adam’s younger brother, in Streets of Rage 2 and Streets of Rage 3. In Streets of Rage 4, Adam will fight alongside his daughter, Cherry, who was revealed this summer.

Cherry and Adam Hunter join returning Streets of Rage vets Axel and Blaze Fielding in Streets of Rage 4, which is coming to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and Xbox One.

Developers Lizardcube, Guard Crush Games, and Dotemu announced Streets of Rage 4 in 2018. The brawler will feature music from Streets of Rage composers Yuzo Koshiro and Motohiro Kawashima, as well as music from contributors Yoko Shimomura, who wrote music for the original Street Fighter 2 and the Kingdom Hearts series; Hideki Naganuma, known for his work on the Jet Set Radio, Sega Rally, and Super Monkey Ball games; and Keiji Yamagishi, who wrote music for Ninja Gaiden and Tecmo Bowl.
