The Division 2’s snowball gun wreaks havoc with the ol’ hidden-rock trick

And combined with some exotic gloves, bad guys literally have no chance

Well, now we have the answer for the eternal elemental question of who wins: Fire? or Ice? The snowball gun in Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 manages to take down a flame-throwing hood with ease.

The Sleigher, as it is delightfully known, arrived with the game’s latest title update on Tuesday. It also has a delightful talent called the “Hidden Rock.” No, really. Land a headshot with the SMG and the target will be knocked senseless — confuse effects apply for 20 seconds.

A headshot with an ordinary SMG is rather tough; with the Sleigher, it’s no gimme. Its accuracy is somewhere around 10 percent. (While stability looks to be about 70 or 80, probably because what kind of recoil could a snowball create, really?)

As YouTuber NothingButSkillz points out (beginning at 6:18 in this video) , The Sleigher’s talent combines very well with the exotic BTSU gloves’ Energy Infusion talent. It’s a lot of technical stuff, but basically, the gloves take the status effect from The Sleigher and impart it to the player’s throwable skill, while whopping enemies for another 50 percent damage while they are confused. Got all that?

Needless to say, NothingButSkillz is a player with 500 gear score and pretty much every exotic item at the top of the food chain, so it’s not like everyone who finds The Sleigher is going to be throwing down like that. But the opening of that video shows him clearing out an Outcast control point before the boss, a heavy with a flamethrower, can even respond (thanks largely to the seeker mines).

As for where to find this weapon, every YouTuber and their sibling has five where-to-find videos up by now; Ubisoft’s streamers found theirs at the Lincoln Memorial. Look for bad guys with a Santa hat on. If you take down an elite with one, he drops the Sleigher, and it’s yours.
