Everyone’s favorite spherical droid, BB-8, is coming to Star Wars Battlefront 2 as a playable hero character. The Resistance droid introduced four years again Star Wars: The Force Awakens will join the hero lineup in Battlefront 2 in January, developer DICE revealed today.

The First Order will also get a BB unit of their own. That no-good, moof-milker-of-a-droid BB-9E, the dark Astromech unit who ratted out our heroes in The Last Jedi, will play a support role for the First Order.

Star Wars Battlefront 2’s current hero and villain lineup includes original trilogy characters like Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Leia Organa, Han Solo, and Emperor Palpatine, as well as sequel characters Rey, Finn, and Kylo Ren. Exactly how a pair of round Astromech boys will stand toe-to-toe with that lot is unknown, but BB-8 did lay out an entire Canto Bight security team with some coins and piloted an AT-ST in The Last Jedi, so he’s clearly capable in battle.

There’s more Star Wars sequel trilogy content coming as well, some of it timed with the release of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. A new, unnamed jungle planet from Episode IX will come to Battlefront 2 in December, as will new units: the Sith Trooper and Jet Trooper for the First Order, and the Gunner and Spy for the Resistance. The new Resistance units will be two new alien species from The Rise of Skywalker. Rey, Finn, and Kylo Ren will also get new skins, inspired by their appearances in the new Star Wars movie.

More details on the Battlefront 2 content roadmap and the new Celebration Edition that comes with a bunch of add-ons, is available at Electronic Arts’ website.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker hits movie theaters on Dec. 20.
