Yakuza Kiwami 2 comes to PC in May

Just when Kiryu thought he was out, they pull him back in

Yakuza Kiwami 2, the remake of 2006’s Yakuza 2, will launch on Windows PC on May 9, Sega announced in the newest trailer for the open-world, underworld action-adventure.

Yakuza Kiwami 2 launched on PlayStation 4 in Japan (December 2017) and the west (August 2018) already. Steam is taking pre-orders for the $29.99 game, which will entitle buyers to all of the game’s downloadable content — including a “clan creator bundle,” exclusive weapons and outfits, and more.

The original Yakuza 2 never launched on PC (nor did the first Yakuza from 2005). Yakuza Kiwami launched on Windows PC back in February (following its 2017 launch on PlayStation 4 in the west).

We were sweet on Yakuza Kiwami 2 when it launched on PS4 in August. Our review said the game “leverages a state-of-the-art engine to present a story that holds up, with gameplay refined over a dozen years.” Our ranking of the nine Yakuza games put Yakuza 2 at No. 6 in April 2018, before it got the Kiwami (meaning “ultimate” or “extreme”) treatment.
