The fourth and last character trailer for the forthcoming dungeon-crawler Warhammer: Chaosbane introduces us to Elessa, the Wood Elf Waywatcher. For those who prefer to dodge-roll out of danger rather than block-and-parry against Chaosbane’s horde of baddies, Elessa may be the main for you. This video shows off all she can do.
She isn’t all speed and ranged combat, though that of course sets her apart from the other three adventurers in Chaosbane. Elessa uses her nature affinity to slow down and poison enemies, buff up allies in multiplayer co-op, or summon a bunch of Groots to help out if she’s going solo.
Just keep a healthy distance and always be mindful of the crowd-control tactics she possesses, as melee combat will make it a fast and unfavorable fight. Elessa joins Bragi Axebiter, the Dwarven tank, Elontir, a high elf magic-user, and Konrad Vollen, the all-rounder.
I played the closed beta at the beginning of March with Konrad and formed these impressions. The closed beta returns April 18 to April 24, and the game launches in June for PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One.
