New Endgame clip tells us exactly where Captain Marvel’s been all this time

Also, Captain America says ‘son of a bitch,’ so who needs to watch their language NOW, HUH

A new clip from Marvel Studios’ long-awaited Avengers: Endgame reveals the most we’ve seen yet about the plot of the Avengers: Infinity War sequel. And, as six of the Avengers stand around and figure out how to take the fight to Thanos, we find out exactly what Captain Marvel was doing on her 20-year space odyssey.

It seems as though Thanos has used the Infinity Stones again — for what reason, we’ll have to speculate — and the Avengers have somehow been able to detect it. They reason that if there’s a chance they can get to the big purple people-snapper and somehow get the Infinity Gauntlet from him and use it to undo what he’s done, well. They owe that to every person who turned to dust at the end of Infinity War.

But in the meantime, War Machine has a prickly question for Captain Marvel: Where was she when Thanos killed all their friends? “There are a lot of other planets in the universe,” she answers, “and unfortunately, they didn’t have you guys.”

While the Avengers were busy protecting one planet, Carol studied the blade was protecting the galaxy.

Avengers: Endgame will hit theaters on April 26, and stars Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk, Chris Evans as Captain America, Scarlett Johansson as the Black Widow, Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, Don Cheadle as War Machine, Tom Holland as Spider-Man, Chadwick Boseman as the Black Panther, Paul Bettany as the Vision, Elizabeth Olsen as the Scarlet Witch, Anthony Mackie as the Falcon, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Pom Klementieff as Mantis, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Josh Brolin as Thanos, Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts, Letitia Wright as Shuri, Samuel L.
