The Pokémon Company is holding a special press conference in Tokyo, Japan on Tuesday, May 28, promising news on “a number of topics of interest to Pokémon fans.” The presentation is separate from the recently announced Nintendo Direct focused on Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield.

The Pokémon Company’s 2019 press conference will be broadcast on the company’s YouTube and Twitch channels on May 28 at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.

Previous Pokémon Company press conferences have touched on console Pokémon games, like Pokémon Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon Let’s Go, Eevee!, as well as titles for mobile platforms, such as Pokémon Go and Pokémon Quest.

Mobile game developer DeNA, the company behind titles Super Mario Run and Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, recently announced a “new and exciting smartphone game ... based on the globally popular Pokémon franchise, in partnership with The Pokémon Company.” The new Pokémon mobile game is slated to launch during DeNA’s current fiscal year, which runs through March 2020.
