Captain Marvel deleted scene reveals a big secret about the Supreme Intelligence

And an acting challenge for Jude Law

Jude Law/Yon-Rogg in Captain Marvel. Marvel Studios

We wrote quite a bit about the face of the Supreme Intelligence when Captain Marvel came out — first, we found out Annette Bening’s secret role was as the Kree supercomputer, then we found out that the Supreme Intelligence simply appeared as the person you most respected.

Unfortunately, we never got to see any other version of the Supreme Intelligence, even though Captain Marvel teased that reveal around Carol’s superior officer, Yon-Rogg, played by Jude Law. But with Captain Marvel about to hit Blu-ray and DVD, we’ve got a new deleted scene that shows the Supreme Intelligence calling Yon-Rogg on the carpet for his failures — and the scene reveals just how self-centered the Kree warrior really is.

[Ed. note: This scene contains some spoilers for Captain Marvel, but hopefully you already figured that out.]

It turns out that the egotistic Yon-Rogg does indeed see the person he most esteems in the universe: himself. Albeit himself with a shock of silver hair and a dominating attitude — I’m sure the fanfics are already being written.

Honestly, I hope the fanfics are already being written, because otherwise this is a waste of Jude Law going ham playing both the gleefully evil Supreme Intelligence and the simpering, wretched Yon-Rogg. This is the kind of weirdness that Captain Marvel could have used just a little bit more of.
