Death Stranding is full of famous faces. The likenesses of actors including Mads Mikkelsen and Norman Reedus feature in Hideo Kojima’s upcoming game — but so do filmmakers like Guillermo del Toro and Nicolas Winding Refn.

In a neat tit-for-tat, Refn’s new 10-part series, Too Old to Die Young, now streaming on Amazon Prime, features a cameo from Kojima. If you’re just looking for a Kojima fix (or if you’re willing to start in the middle of the series, which Refn claims can be watched out of order), jump to episode four, “The Tower.”

The basics of the series are fairly evident: Miles Teller stars as a cop whose vigilante takes him into the criminal world. His morals, however, are starting to affect the jobs he does and doesn’t take. When he discovers one of his targets hasn’t done anything heinous — he simply owes money — he takes him to get it, bringing him into the orbit of the Yakuza.

For most of the ensuing conversation, Kojima is seated in the corner of the room, but he caps off the sequence in the best way possible. Though he doesn’t have any lines, he still makes a hell of an impact, as it’s down to him to extract the poor man’s debt. In exchange for paying off what the man owes, the Yakuza slice off one of his fingers — via Kojima, with a katana.

The game designer doesn’t appear in the series again, but his one cameo is still pretty darn cool. If you’re only in it for Kojima but the scene piques your interest, we highly recommend checking the rest out.
