After two years of ongoing support for Splatoon 2, Nintendo announced that events are coming to an end. You have one more chance to pick between Marina and Pearl in what is being called the biggest Splatfest yet.
From July 18 to 21, players will vote between chaos (Pearl) and order (Marina.) Then your team will face off against the opposing concept — whoever gets the most votes and most wins takes home the gold. As always, the Splatfest will bring with it a lively concert in the Splatoon 2 lobby, and players will duke it out in a new Shifty Station stage. According to Nintendo, all previous Shifty Station iterations will also be available for the big occasion. Participating players will be able to nab some new gear, because as always Splatoon is all about staying fresh.
Splatoon will also get a version 5.0 update, which will allow fans to host their own private Splatfests where all 24 Shifty Stations will be available. Nintendo notes that while it is ending its new content support, the online service will continue. No news on Splatoon 3 yet, but you gotta imagine it’s around the corner if things are winding down for Splatoon 2.
