King of Fighters’ Mai and Kula coming to Dead or Alive 6 in June

It’s KOF vs. DOA

Two new fighters, both from SNK’s The King of Fighters series, are coming to Dead or Alive 6 on June 18, developer Team Ninja and Koei Tecmo confirmed today. Mai Shiranui and Kula Diamond will make their DOA6 debut as part of paid downloadable content.

In a gameplay trailer, we get a look at Mai’s fiery moves, many of which look familiar from past King of Fighters games — and Dead or Alive 5 Last Round, where she previously appeared as a guest DLC character. She squares off against Kasumi in a contest to see which of the two is Japan’s most powerful kunoichi.

We also see Kula — the “Ice Doll” — in action against Dead or Alive 6 newcomer Nico, presumably to settle who has the better blue hair. Kula’s moveset includes plenty of ice-powered moves, and her Break Blow puts her opponent into a massive block of ice.

Mai and Kula are included as part of Dead or Alive 6’s season pass, which costs $92.99 and includes 62 add-on costumes for the game’s roster. They’ll also be sold separately for the free-to-play Dead or Alive 6 Core Fighters version of the game.
