In anticipation of San Diego Comic-Con 2019, Netflix revealed the first full look at the lead characters of The Witcher series in costume.
A previous first look showed off Henry Cavill as Geralt in a costume test, with his very ... er ... distinct-looking silver wig. Now we get a different angle of Cavill’s costume — more specifically, Geralt’s very strong-looking behind and a brooding side view. Does the wig look better? Prepare to scrutinize.
In addition to more Geralt, Netflix also showed off Anya Chalotra as the sorceress Yennefer and Freya Allan as the princess Ciri, both looking ready to embark on an epic fantasy quest. Both actress are newcomers, at least compared to the franchise-seasoned Cavill, but take on important roles in the story of the Witcher.
The Netflix series adapts the fantasy book series by Andrzej Sapkowski, which has been previously translated into various properties, including a best-selling video game series. Netflix will announce more information about The Witcher during San Diego Comic Con on July 19 during a Hall H panel.
In addition to the character posters, Netflix also revealed the official title treatment and tagline: The worst monsters are the ones we create. There is still no release date for The Witcher, but it’s set to air sometime later in 2019.
Cavill shared another front-facing Geralt image to his Instagram.
