Zack Snyder is not releasing the Snyder Cut of Justice League. Sorry. He is, however, bringing a new anime project to Netflix alongside frequent collaborator Jay Oliva, adding to Netflix’s growing anime slate.

The series is set within the world of Norse mythology, and there’s not much information beyond that. Snyder and Oliva’s partnership spans across numerous films within the DC Universe, including Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Oliva will executive produce alongside Snyder, in addition to serving as showrunner and director. Deborah Snyder (Wonder Woman) and Wesley Coller (Watchmen) will both produce through Stone Quarry Animation, an offshoot of their production company with Oliva.

“Zack Snyder’s innovation in visual storytelling has pushed the industry forward and established him as one of the most distinctive filmmakers of his generation. We are beyond excited to partner with him and his exceptional team to bring the iconic characters and stories of Norse mythology to life in his inimitable style,” said John Derderian, head of anime programming for Netflix.

Both Snyder and Oliva are currently involved in Netflix projects. Snyder is directing, writing, and producing Army of the Dead, a zombie thriller. Oliva is in production on Trese, an anime series set in Manila, Philippines.
